Italy has many secrets to reveal but there is one city to beat them all: Naples, one of the busiest metropolitan cities in the country.
Visit the Southern capital of Italy
Naples is the capital of the Campania region in Southern Italy. With more than one million inhabitants, Naples is Italy’s third largest city, following only by Milan and Rome.
Located in the beautiful Gulf of Naples, the city has many attractions and its warm, sometimes tumultuous atmosphere will not leave you indifferent. The port of Mergellina and the Gulf are dominated by Vesuvius which protect Naples from the wind. Today the port of Naples is home to many tourist ferries that connect the islands of Capri, Ischia and Procida. These islands are havens of peace and are ideal for a break away from the busy Neapolitan city life.
A great tour from the port is to take a boat to visit Posillipo which hosts rich and beautiful villas visible only from the sea.
Other must see places are the Castel Nuovo, the Santa Chiara, the Capodimonte Museum, the National Archaeological Museum, the Egg Castell… Indeed, the city of Naples offers countless treasures, a trove of art works and historic sites as well as a vibrant city with a warm atmosphere.
Shops, restaurants and nightlife make Naples one of our favourite European cities. Italian foods such as pizza, spaghetti and parmigiana originated from here. These dishes are taken seriously in Naples and usually feature fresh, locally grown ingredients.
